Parts - Master List Overview
The Parts list displays all parts that have been added to the RTA software. This list can be viewed as a whole or can be sorted/adjusted for specific views. The ability to sort and customize columns as well as to export the master list are available.
Refer to Master List Functions TOC for instructions.
Refer to Adding a Part for instructions to add parts to RTA.
This article will cover the various columns that can appear on the Parts Master List as well as actions that can be taken while viewing the list.
Searching the Parts Master List
The search bar at the top of the master list will allow the user to search by specific datasets.
Search does not exclude fields and may have multiple results. For example, if a part is numbered as 1234 and that sequence also appears in the BIN number on another part, the system will return both results
To search for a part number or any other applicable part data from the list, do the following:
Enter the data to search in the search bar
The list will re-display with all the line items that contain a matching result
Refer to Customizing Lists for instructions on using filters.
If the list shows parts from another facility, or is missing parts you expect, a facility filter is still applied to the grid. Changing your Working Facility does not clear filters already on the list. See Customizing Master List Columns.
Columns appearing on the Parts Master List
The Parts Master List shows four columns by default. The description of each is listed below. Many more columns can be added from the “Column Chooser” (three dots in the upper right > Customize Columns), including Stocked (Yes/No), Manufacturer, Unit Price, Alt Part Number, Primary Vendor, VMRS, Bin B-E quantities and labels, and the warranty columns. A column you add is kept only while you are on the list unless you save it in a preset - see Why an Added Column Does Not Stay on Customizing Master List Columns. Refer to Customizing Master List Columns for instructions on doing so if needed.
Part Number - Displays the assigned part number for the particular part
Description - Displays the part description entered when the part was added
Bin - Displays the Bin location where the part is located
Quantity - Displays the quantity on hand for the particular part
Getting a parts list for one facility, with cost
Set your Working Facility to the facility you need, or add a Facility filter to the list - if parts from another facility still show, a filter is still applied (see the note above).
Add the columns you need from Customize Columns - for cost, use Unit Price and Sale Price (both hidden by default); Quantity is already shown. See Customizing Master List Columns.
Select Export to Spreadsheet for an Excel file. See Exporting a Master List.
Grids do not build totals or calculated columns. For a total, export to Excel and calculate it there, or use the Current Inventory List report for inventory value. For a quick filtered list from a screen, use the grid’s Export to Spreadsheet - the Admin > Imports/Exports utility is for bulk data-file templates, not ad hoc lists (see Export Functions).
