Post labor to a job
Requires the Post: Labor permission. See Work Order permissions.

Steps
Open the Work Order and locate the job you want to post labor to.
In the job's action row, select Add Posting.
The Add Posting panel opens with this job already selected. (If you opened Add Posting from elsewhere in the workspace, select the job first from the Job field at the top of the panel.)
In the Posting Type tabs, select Labor.
In the Employee field, select the technician the labor is for.
NOTE: If a technician is already assigned to this job, the Employee field is filled in for you automatically.
Confirm the Date the labor was performed. It defaults to today.
Confirm or enter the Labor Rate. In most cases this is set for you and read-only; it's only editable if your role has the permission to override it.
Enter Hours Worked.
NOTE: If the technician has scheduled hours remaining on this job, Hours Worked is pre-filled with the remaining amount — enter a different value if the actual time differs.
Confirm or enter Billed Hours. This defaults to match Hours Worked and is read-only unless your role can change it.
Select Post.
NOTE: If the job is closed, you're prompted to reopen it first. Confirm the reopen prompt to continue — see Close or reopen a job.
The labor transaction is posted: a "Labor posted" confirmation message appears, and the job's transaction list and cost totals update to include it. For what each Labor field means, see Posting types; for how this posting turns into job and Work Order cost totals, see How postings affect costs.
If this step fails
If Post stays disabled, a required field is still incomplete — Employee, Date, Labor Rate, Hours Worked, and Billed Hours must all be filled in before the button becomes active.
