Fuel Tank - Pump to Tank Transfer
Purpose of Pump to Tank Transfer
Fleets may have onsite fuel islands/depots with pumps and also have mobile fuel tanks that they need to replenish. Pump-to-tank transfers can throw off your numbers if they’re not tracked correctly. You can record those transfers directly inside RTA Fleet360 with built-in checks to help prevent mistakes like mismatched fuel types or overfilled tanks. Each transfer updates your inventory and creates a clean log so your numbers stay consistent.
How to Process a Pump to Tank Transfer
Before a pump to tank transfer can occur in Fleet360, both pump and tank numbers along with proper fuel type associations should be set beforehand. Refer to Fuel - Tank and Fuel - Pumps for information on the set-up pumps and tanks
From the main menu, expand the <Fuel> section
Click on <Tank>
Locate and click on the <Actions> drop down in the upper right corner of the screen
Click the <Pump to Tank Transfer> option
Enter the following information into the pop out window:
Pump number where the fuel is coming from
Number of gallons being transferred from that pump
Once the the pump and tank numbers are selected, Fleet360 will do a quick data check
If the fuel type between the pump and tank is a mismatch, a fuel type error will appear
Tank number receiving the fuel
Date of transfer (the system will auto-populate the current day’s date and this can be edited to reflect a previous day to keep records accurate)
Click Post Transfer
The Pump to Tank Transfer pop out window will also display some basic information regarding th pump and tank selected that pre-populates after the pump and tank are selected. This information is static and auto-populates from the field settings set up in the individual pump and tank files.
The information that shows for both the pump and tank is:
Fuel Type
Attached to tank number
Tank Capacity
Stick Reading
Tank computed inventory
Average price
