Add an inspection from a Work Order
Before you begin
You need permission to perform inspections or to manage mechanic vehicle inspections in Fleet360 to start a new inspection from a job. The Add Inspection Checklist option only appears on jobs that are open (or already have a closed inspection), not voided, not planned, not an estimate Work Order, and not an outside-repair line.
Steps
On the job you want to start an inspection for, select Add Inspection Checklist.
The Choose Inspection panel opens for that job, showing the job's context (Job, Repair Type, Assigned Tech) alongside the list of available inspections.
Under All Inspections, select the inspection template you want to start (for example, a mechanic, tire, or brake inspection, depending on what your organization has configured).
The selected template is highlighted.
Select Add Inspection Checklist to save your selection.
A confirmation dialog appears, warning that this action can't be undone.
Select Save to confirm.
The panel closes, an "Inspection added" confirmation appears, and the job's action now reads Launch Inspection Checklist — the inspection has started and is ready for whoever performs it to open and complete.
If this step fails
If you don't have permission to add inspections, a Permission dialog opens instead of the panel — contact your administrator to request access.
