Share a report with a teammate
Before you begin
You must own the report you're sharing — sharing can't be set on a report someone shared with you. Your recipient needs their own Ron360 Reports access before they can open anything you send. Pick a colleague who has it, and use the report you built in Build your first report.
What you will accomplish
You'll give a colleague access to one of your reports, and see how it appears on their side.
Steps
Go to Ron 360 Reports and select your report.
Open the report's actions and select Share.
In Share with users, add your colleague.
Select Save.
Ask your colleague to open Ron 360 Reports. Your report is now in their list, marked "Shared by" and your name.
Ask them to open it and re-run it. They can run and export it, and they can take their own copy of it — but the report stays yours, and only you can change it.
What you just did
You gave someone access to the report, not to the data behind it. That distinction is the one thing worth carrying away from this scenario: a shared report runs under whoever opens it, so your colleague sees the rows their own permissions and facilities allow. The two of you can open the same report and legitimately see different numbers, and sharing has not widened anyone's access to anything. There is one deliberate exception, and you'll meet it in the next tutorial — a scheduled email delivery is generated with the schedule owner's access, so everyone on the delivery list receives the same file regardless of what they could see themselves.
Next steps
Schedule a report for delivery — have the report arrive by email on a repeating basis.
Share a report or folder — the full task, including sharing a whole folder as a team workspace.
