Adding Part Files On The Fly
Part files can be created “on the fly” when posting to work orders or adding lines to purchase orders. This is due to a part file not currently existing in the software for one reason or another that needs to be posted to a work order or ordered from a vendor via a purchase order.
The system recognizes that the part number being entered does not exist and gives a user with permissions to add part files the ability to add the part file at the same time.
One-time item or service? You do not have to create a part file. On a purchase order, click Continue on the not-on-file message to add the item as a non-file (NONFILE) line with a free-text description - for example a sublet repair or labor charge. Continue requires the Order Non-file Parts permission.

Adding Parts on the Fly
If the part does not exist in the system, a pop-up message display. To create a part file, click Add Part.
Once the necessary information has been entered, click the create box. Refer to Adding a Part File for detailed information regarding the fields of the part file to ensure a thorough file is created.
Your new part should now be in your parts file.
