Assign technicians to a job
Requires the Edit Work Orders permission to open a job's Edit Job panel — see Work Order permissions. The job must also be Open or Partial; a closed or voided job can't be edited from this panel. You can also assign one or more technicians while adding a job — the steps below apply once the job exists, whether it's brand new or already in progress. For what the Assigned technician(s) and Auto clock-in fields mean, see Job fields.
Steps
Open the Work Order that contains the job.
In the Jobs list, select the job's assigned-technician chip (or Unassigned, if none is set yet) — or select Edit Job for the job and scroll to the Technicians section.
The Edit Job panel opens with the Technicians section in view.
Select Add Technician, then choose a technician from the list that appears. Enter their scheduled hours if you want to record them now.
Repeat step 3 for each additional technician you want to assign to the job.
If more than one technician is assigned, drag a technician's row to the top of the list to make them the primary technician.
To remove a technician already on the job, select the button shown in their row — its behavior depends on their status (for example, a technician who hasn't started work is removed outright, while one with partial hours is released instead).
Select Save Job.
The job's assigned technician(s) update in the Jobs list.
If this step fails
If you don't see an Edit Job option or an assigned-technician chip for a job, you likely don't have the Edit Work Orders permission, or the job is closed or voided. See Work Order permissions.
