Create a Work Order
Before you begin
You need the Add Work Orders permission to create a Work Order. See Work Order permissions for details.
Steps
From the Work Orders list, select Add (the plus-circle button in the toolbar). Fleet360 opens the Create Work Order screen.
Select the Vehicle for this Work Order. This field is always required.
If Fleet360 prompts you for the vehicle's current meter reading, enter it (and the alternate meter, if it's shown).
If your organization prompts for a Customer, select one. Whether this field is hidden, optional, or required depends on your organization's configuration — see Work Order system switches.
If your organization prompts for a Vendor for outside or sublet work, select one.
If Fleet360 prompts you for a Reason Code, select one.
If your organization uses shop codes, enter or select the Shop.
Enter the Work Order number. This field doesn't appear if your organization generates Work Order numbers automatically, and it only accepts letters if your organization allows alphanumeric Work Order numbers.
If a purchase order is required for this Work Order, enter the PO Number. If your organization automatically creates a purchase order for outside Work Orders instead, check auto-create purchase order — this makes Vendor and PO Number required.
Select Create.
If the vehicle you selected already has an open Work Order, Fleet360 asks whether you want to open that existing Work Order instead of creating a new one.
The Work Order is created. Fleet360 shows a confirmation message and takes you to the new Work Order's detail screen.
If this step fails
If a required field is missing or invalid, Fleet360 shows a "Failed to validate work order form" message and the Work Order is not created. Review the fields above for anything left blank, then select Create again.
