Delete a tire

You can delete a tire record from the Tire File when it should not exist — for example, a tire created in error or a duplicate. Deletion is permanent, so Fleet360 asks you to confirm first.

Before you begin

  • Requires the Tire Management: Delete permission. This is a separate permission from Edit Tire — having permission to renumber or transfer a tire does not let you delete one.

  • If you do not have it, Delete appears in the Actions menu but is greyed out. Unlike Transfer and Renumber, it does not show a tooltip explaining why.

Delete a tire

  1. Open the tire in the Tire File.

  2. Select Actions, then Delete.

  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

A "Tire deleted" confirmation appears once the tire is removed.

While the deletion is in progress the Delete option stays visible but greyed out, so you cannot submit the same deletion twice.

What deletion affects

Deleting a tire removes the tire record itself. This is not the same as taking a tire out of service or dismounting it — if the tire physically exists and you want to stop using it, dismount it rather than deleting the record.

Deletion is permanent and there is no undo, which is why the confirmation step cannot be skipped.

If it doesn't work

Delete is greyed out. You are missing the Tire Management: Delete permission. Ask an administrator to add it to your role. Note that Edit Tire does not grant deletion.

The whole Actions button is disabled. You have none of the three tire actions available — Transfer, Renumber, or Delete. This points to role configuration rather than anything about this particular tire.

Nothing happens when I select Delete again. The first request is still running. Wait for the confirmation message rather than retrying.
