Run and export your report

Before you begin

You need a saved report — use the one you built in Build your first report. Running and exporting need only the AI Reports View permission, and neither one spends AI credits, so you can repeat this scenario as often as you like.

What you will accomplish

You'll re-run a saved report against current data, view it full screen, and export a copy of it.

Steps

  1. Go to Ron 360 Reports and select your report. It re-renders as it opens, so what you're looking at is current — not a copy of what you saw when you saved it.

  2. Select Edit Filters. The dialog opens on Run, with the subtitle "Set filters to re-run this report with current data."

  3. Set the values you want.

If your report was built without parameters or filters, this dialog has nothing to set. That's expected — continue to the next step.

  4. Select Run Report. The report re-renders using the values you set.

  5. Select the full-screen button to open the report in a full-window view, then close it with the in the corner.

  6. Select Export, then Export CSV. You'll see "CSV export started. You will be notified when the file is ready."

  7. Carry on working. The export is built in the background, and you're notified separately when the file is ready — you don't need to keep the report open.

What you just did

You treated the report as something live rather than something finished. A Ron360 report is rendered, not exported, which is why opening it gave you today's data instead of the rows that were there when it was built — and why you could change its inputs and run it again without rebuilding anything. The export is the opposite: a fixed copy, taken deliberately, for when you need the numbers somewhere else. Choose CSV when you're going to analyse the data elsewhere, and PDF when you want a fixed rendering to hand to someone. One thing to note for later: when you run a report yourself, date ranges are fixed dates. Rolling windows such as "Last 30 days" belong to scheduled deliveries.
