Create an Estimate Work Order

Before you begin

You need the Add Estimates permission to create an Estimate Work Order. See Work Order permissions for details.

Steps

  1. From the Estimate Work Orders list, select Create (the plus-circle button in the toolbar). Fleet360 opens the Create Estimate Work Order screen.

  2. Select the Vehicle for this estimate. This field is always required.

  3. If Fleet360 prompts you for the vehicle's current meter reading, enter it (and the alternate meter, if it's shown).

  4. If your organization prompts for a Customer, select one.

  5. If your organization prompts for a Vendor for outside or sublet work, select one.

  6. If Fleet360 prompts you for a Reason Code, select one.

  7. If your organization uses shop codes, enter or select the Shop.

  8. Enter the Work Order number. This field doesn't appear if your organization generates Work Order numbers automatically.

  9. Select a Purchase Order # if one applies to this estimate.

  10. Select Create.

The estimate is created in New status. Fleet360 shows a confirmation message and takes you to the estimate's detail screen. See Estimate Work Order statuses for what New means and what happens next.

If this step fails

If a required field is missing or invalid, Fleet360 shows a "Failed to validate work order form" message and the estimate is not created. Review the fields above for anything left blank, then select Create again.
