Updating the Asset Condition field in Fleet360
The Condition field on the asset file records the asset’s current physical condition. It lives in the Asset Info panel of the Asset Management tab (Asset Management > Asset Info > Condition) and the related Last Updated Condition date shows when it was last changed. The list is a fixed set of values: No visual damage, Minor imperfections, Noticeable imperfections, Accident damage, and Inoperative or unsafe.
Update Condition manually
Open the asset, go to Asset Management > Asset Info, click in the Condition field, and choose the condition from the list. See Asset Management Tab.
Update Condition from a work order
A work order can prompt the technician to set the asset’s condition when they finish the job, so the field stays current without a separate edit.
Turn on Prompt for Condition on the WO VMRS code used for the job (Maint. & Repair > Settings > WO VMRS). See Work Order VMRS Codes (WO VMRS).
When the technician ends a job carrying that VMRS code in Paperless Shop, the end-job screen prompts for the asset’s Condition.
The chosen condition is written to the asset’s Condition field and the Last Updated Condition date is set.
Inspection responses do not update Condition
Answers to inspection prompts are saved as notes on the inspection - they do not write to the asset’s Condition field. A defect recorded on an inspection can create a work-order repair item that carries an Asset Status selection - note that Asset Status is a different field than Condition.
