Close or reopen a job
Before you begin
Closing a job requires the Close Jobs permission. Reopening a closed job requires the Reopen Jobs permission. See Work Order permissions for what each permission controls.
Close a job
On the Work Order, find the job you want to close. The Close Job action is available on any job in Open or Partial status.
Select Close Job.
If your organization uses completion codes, select one from the Accomplish Code list in the confirmation dialog. This step is optional if no completion code list appears.
If this job is linked to a prior PM Work Order with an older meter reading, leave the Update Last PM checkbox selected to update that PM information, or clear it to skip. This checkbox only appears when it applies.
Select Close in the confirmation dialog.
The job's status changes to Closed.
Reopen a job
On the Work Order, find the job you want to reopen. The Reopen Job action is available only on a job in Closed status (it does not appear on Estimate Work Orders).
Select Reopen Job.
Select Reopen in the confirmation dialog. If the parent Work Order is already closed, the dialog tells you it will be reopened along with the job.
The job's status changes back to an active status, and the parent Work Order reopens too if it had been closed.
If this step fails
If Close or Reopen doesn't complete, or the dialog shows a message explaining why the job can't close, see Job can't be closed or reopened for the full diagnostic path.
