Review and close a Work Order
Before you begin
You need a job with at least one labor or parts posting on an open Work Order — if you don't have one yet, follow Post labor and parts to a job first. You also need the Close Jobs and Close Work Orders permissions. Fleet360 doesn't provide a separate training or demo environment, so as with the rest of this Learn series, work through this on the same low-stakes real Work Order and vehicle you've been using rather than one your fleet depends on.
What you will accomplish
You'll close the job you've been working with, then close the Work Order itself.
Steps
On your practice Work Order, find the job you've been posting to and select Close Job.
Select Close in the confirmation dialog.
Confirm the job's status now shows Closed.
In the actions rail on the right side of the Work Order, select Close Work Order.
In the Close Work Order dialog, confirm the Close Date.
Select Close.
Confirm the Work Order's status now shows Closed.
What you just did
You closed at two levels: first the job itself, then the Work Order that contains it. Closing a job runs a check against that job alone; closing the Work Order runs a separate check that simply confirms every job on it has already reached a closable status. Because your practice job had nothing blocking it, both checks passed cleanly and each close went straight through. See Work Order closure requirements for what each check actually looks at, which conditions can and can't be worked around, and how the Ready for Review worklist fits in for Work Orders that don't close automatically.
