Act on a recommendation
Before you begin
You need Act on FleetHQ Insights — reading the page needs only View FleetHQ, but recording a decision needs this second permission. Use the finding whose evidence you read in Check the evidence behind an insight.
Unlike the first two tutorials, this one records a real decision on a real finding in your organization. Work through it on a finding whose recommended step you are genuinely willing to carry out.
What you will accomplish
You'll perform one recommended step, then record it as done and watch the plan's progress move.
Steps
Select your finding, so its recommended plan appears beside the list.
Find an open step under Your Tasks.
Read what the step recommends.
If this finding offers only Got it and Not useful, it has no step-level plan. Those buttons close the whole finding — use the How-to rather than this scenario.
Go and do the work the step describes. FleetHQ does not perform a user task for you, and the next step asserts that the work happened.
Return to FleetHQ and select Mark done on that step.
In Mark this task as done?, add notes if the dialog offers them, then confirm.
Read the step's new state. It now shows Completed, and the actioned counter on the plan has gone up.
What you just did
You recorded a decision, and that is all you did — the recording is separate from the work. FleetHQ tracked that this step was handled; it did not verify that the underlying problem went away. The metric is what settles that, and a finding clears itself when its metric recovers, whether or not you ever touched its plan. The action buttons exist to record a decision or clear a finding sooner, not to keep the monitoring alive. Ignore is worth knowing about too: it counts as actioned exactly like Mark done, and its optional reason is how you tell FleetHQ that a recommendation was not worth surfacing. The other half of a plan works the same way with one surprise attached. Steps under Agent Actions are approved or rejected rather than done or ignored, and in 26.10 approving one records your go-ahead and executes nothing at all. If you approve an agent action and nothing changes, that is the release behaving correctly.
