Summary/Use Case
Report Summary
The Fuel Variance Report delivers an in-depth analysis of fuel usage and variance by pump, tank, and fuel type. This report is valuable for fleet managers to track discrepancies, manage inventory, and monitor fuel consumption costs across various facilities. By evaluating these variances, fleet managers can identify areas of fuel loss or discrepancies that may need further investigation.
Use Case
Monitor fuel usage and detect discrepancies by pump and tank for efficient inventory management.
Track fuel costs and variances to identify potential savings or losses across facilities.
Assist in identifying specific fuel types that contribute to higher costs, aiding in budgeting and cost control.
Use fuel data to plan for optimal fuel reordering and inventory levels.
Ensure accountability by assessing pump and tank variances in fuel usage across facilities.

Report Output and Data Elements
Report Output
The Fuel Variance Report includes three main sections: Fuel Pump Variance, Tank Variance, and Fuel Type Totals.
Fuel Pump Variance: This section breaks down the fuel readings per pump, highlighting the differences between current and previous readings, pumped fuel, charges posted, and the resulting variances in both volume and cost.
Tank Variance: This section provides data on the beginning inventory, charged and pumped gallons, calculated variances, and total tank values. It also shows computed inventory variances, aiding in detecting any discrepancies at the tank level.
Fuel Type Totals: This section summarizes fuel usage by type, showing beginning inventory, fuel drops, total inventory, and value. It also provides cost per gallon, helping to understand the cost distribution across fuel types.
