Tires Master List

The Tires list displays all Tires that have been added to the RTA software. This list can be viewed as a whole or can be sorted/adjusted for specific views. The ability to sort and customize columns as well as to export the master list are available.

This article will cover the various columns that can appear on the Tires Master List as well as actions that can be taken while viewing the list.

Searching the Tires Master List

The search bar at the top of the master list will allow the user to search by specific datasets.

To search do the following:

  1. Enter the data to search in the search bar

  2. The list will re-display with all the line items that contain a matching result

Saving a filter preset

A preset saves the way you have set up the Tires list, that is, the filters you applied, the columns you chose, and the sort order, so you can bring it back with one selection. When you have presets enabled, you can save as many as you need.

Open the presets bar

  1. On the Tires list, select the menu icon (three dots) at the right of the top bar.

  2. Select Presets.

A bar opens under the top bar with a preset dropdown, Save As, Delete, and a close icon.

Save the current view as a preset

  1. Set up the list the way you want it: apply your filters, choose your columns, and sort.

  2. In the presets bar, select Save As.

  3. In Preset Name, type a name. To overwrite a preset you saved before, pick its name from the list instead.

  4. Select Set as Default if you want this view every time you open the Tires list. You can have one default for this list.

  5. Select Set as Company Wide to share the preset with every user in your organization. This option is available only in tiers that include it. Otherwise it is greyed out with the note "This feature is not available in your current tier".

  6. Save.

You will see "Preset created", or "Preset updated" if you overwrote one.

Apply a preset

Open the presets bar and pick the preset from the dropdown. The list reloads with that preset's filters, columns, and sort. Your default preset is marked (default) in the dropdown.

Delete a preset

  1. In the presets bar, pick the preset you created.

  2. Select Delete, then confirm.

You will see "Preset deleted".

Columns appearing on the Tires Master List

There are 18 columns available for display on the Tires Master List. Several are hidden by default — use the “Column Chooser” option to remove or add columns. The description of each is listed below.

Refer to Customizing Master List Columns for instructions on doing so if needed.

  • Tire Number - Associated tire number

  • Facility - The facility the tire is associated with

  • Size - Size of the tire (Example: 315/80R22.5)

  • Type - Type of tire. There is only 3 hard coded types, Radial, Bias, or Other.

  • Caps - Number of how many times the tire has been capped

  • Condition - Condition of the tire. There is only 3 hard coded types, New, Used, Or Capped

  • Status - Current tire status. These are hardcoded and the following will explain each status:

    • Inventory (after creation of a tire)

    • Mounted (when posted to an asset at a specific position)

    • Ready for Retread (when marked for retread during dismount)

    • At Capper (process moved through the ready for retread preset)

    • Awaiting Scrap (when marked for scrap during posting)

    • Scrapped (process moved through the scrap list)

  • Capper Code - Capper vendors for the purpose of retreads. See “Capper Codes” to learn how to create new Capper Codes.

  • Mounted Vehicle - Vehicle (asset) the tire is mounted on

  • Position - Specific position the tire is mounted on the vehicle. See “Tire Positions” to learn how to create new positions

  • Manufacturer - Tire manufacturer (hidden by default)

  • Ply - Tire ply rating (hidden by default)

  • Total Months on Asset - Months the tire has been mounted on an asset (hidden by default)

  • Total Capped Miles - Miles accumulated while capped (hidden by default)

  • Current Value - Current value of the tire (hidden by default)

  • Accumulated Costs - Life-to-date cost accumulated on the tire (hidden by default)

  • Accumulated Miles - Life-to-date miles/meter accumulated on the tire. Hidden by default — add it with the Column Chooser to see each tire’s life in miles right on the list.

  • Scrap Date - Date the tire was scrapped (hidden by default)

Seeing a mounted tire’s life in miles: add the Accumulated Miles column via the Column Chooser on this list. For every mounted tire by vehicle and position — mount date, odometer at mount, accumulated miles, months in service, recaps, and cost — run the Tire Listing by Vehicle report (Reports > RTA Standard Reports > Tires).

Actions that can be performed on the Tires Master List

There are multiple actions that can be taken from the Tires Master List at the click of a button. Below is a list of actions that can be performed from the list. Detailed instructions for each may be located elsewhere and a link to the appropriate article will be provided.
