Report on Work Orders With No Transactions Posted in the Last N Days
What This Report Does
This report lists work orders that were started but have had no parts, labor, or other transactions posted within the last N days — a stale or idle work-order follow-up list.
Is There a Standard Report?
No standard report prints a “last transaction” or “last activity” date per work order. The Work Order Transaction Summary report lists the transactions posted inside a date range you choose — a work order missing from that output had no activity in the range, but the report does not flag it. To get the list directly, build it in the report designer as described below.
Build It in the Report Designer
Create a report on Work Orders joined to Work Order Transactions. Keep the transaction join optional so a work order with no transactions at all still appears.
Group the output by Work Order.
On the Filters menu, open the Group Min/Max tab and add the transaction posting date field with the Maximum operator. The group maximum is the most recent transaction posting date for each work order.
Add a standard filter comparing that maximum to a date N days before the run date, and a standard filter on work order status for the open statuses you track.
Run the report. Each row is a work order whose most recent posting is older than the cutoff — or which has no postings at all.
Refer to Group Min and Max Filters for how group minimum and maximum filters work.
