RTA Web - Cause Codes
A Cause Code defines the cause of failure for an asset. You can add up to 99 cause codes. Cause Codes are used within the Work Order Line, in the Add/Edit line information box, and dictate the cause for the particular Work Order Line.
Adding a new cause code
From the main menu, select Maint. & Repair> Settings> Cause
- Select the  NEWCODE Box. NEWCODE Box.
2. Add a Code # and Description.
- Click save and the new cause code should display in your code list. 
Editing a cause code
- Select the cause code you wish to edit by clicking on it from the list. 
- Click in the code and description box, and you will be allowed to enter the new information. 
- Click the check mark to confirm. 
Deleting a cause code
- Click on the trashcan next to the code you wish to delete. 
- Click delete when the confirmation box pops up.
