Fueling Parameters/EFI Switches
There are several parameters for EFI and the Fuel Inventory module that control how the RTA system will handle certain situations. These parameters are often referred to as "switches" because they allow certain features to be turned on or off to meet specific needs. The following switches should be reviewed and set up as needed before using EFI. Switches can be set up by going to the specified menu option and then selecting the appropriate line number. Some switches require a value to be entered while others will simply toggle from one value to another by repeatedly selecting that line number.
All the switches applicable to EFI and the Fuel Inventory module can be reviewed or set by selecting System > Setup System Switches > Main System Parameters from the RTA main menu (SSM, Fuel Parameters tab ). Password level 3 is required to access this option.
Switch 04: Create Cross Facility Cross-References: This switch helps to locate vehicles for fuel transactions processed through EFI (FFEP) or uploaded through TriCoder Input (FFT). Set this switch to YES if you allow vehicles to fuel up in multiple facilities. For example, cross facility fueling is allowed if a vehicle residing in facility 0001 is allowed to receive fuel from a pump located in facility 0005. Set to NO if vehicles can only fuel up in the facility where they reside or if you're not using multiple facilities.
Switch 09 Auto Post EFI Transactions: Set to YES to immediately post and update RTA pump and tank information when EFI transactions are processed (FFEP). The following will occur as a result:
- Fuel transactions are automatically posted to the closed fuel transaction file (FFLC)—it will not be necessary to run the Post to Pump/Tanks menu option (FFP) for fuel transactions processed through EFI.
- Pump meter readings are automatically updated with the total gallons processed—it will not be necessary to run the Pump Meter Readings menu option (FPM) for fuel transactions processed through EFI.
- Fuel usage in tank records is automatically updated with the total gallons processed (MUTM) for fuel transactions processed through EFI.
NOTE: You may still need to run the Post to Pump/Tanks and Pump Meter Readings options if fuel entries are entered in RTA through other methods (FFM, FFQ, FFT).
Set this switch to NO to have the option of reviewing the processed EFI transactions before pump and tank records are updated in RTA. As a result, the transactions will remain in the open fuel transaction file (FFLO) until the Post to Pump/Tanks option is run. Pump meter readings will need to be updated manually.
Switches 17-19: If the Using fuel price field in the EFI load module is set to SIZEFILE, the default
andprices entered on these lines will be used for fuel transactions loaded and
Switches 33-36: processed. Enter the default prices for the applicable products: diesel, regular, and unleaded fuel as well as ATF, antifreeze, hydraulic fluid, and oil. The prices entered here will not be used if Using fuel price is set to anything other than SIZEFILE.
Switch 39 EFI Pump Summary Report: The pump summary includes totals for fuel dispensed. This switch determines whether pump summary information is printed at the end of the EFI Process and Transaction reports (FFEP, FFEI). Set to YES to include the pump summary on these reports; set to NO to exclude it; set to PROMPT to have the option of including or excluding the pump summary each time these options are accessed.
